AROMATIQUEがシルクのアイテムを作り始めてから、気がつけば10年ほどの時間が経ちました。素肌に触れた瞬間のなめらかさ、自然な光沢、そして季節を問わず心地よく過ごせる軽やかさ。シルクは、AROMATIQUEのランジェリーを語るうえで欠かせない、大切な素材のひとつです。
そのシルクが、このたび少しだけアップデートされました。
AROMATIQUEのシルクは、イタリアの糸メーカー Ongetta（オンゲッタ）社から、染色されたオリジナルの糸の状態で輸入しています。Ongettaはヴェネツィアから北へ車で約1時間ほどの場所にある老舗の紡績メーカー。繊細で奥行きのある色合いと品質の安定性に定評があり、AROMATIQUEのシルクの美しい発色も、この糸によるところが大きいのです。
今回私たちが見直したのは、その「糸そのもののつくり方」。
これまでのシルクも十分に美しいものでしたが、長く作り続ける中で、ひとつの理想が少しずつ見えてきました。それは、“ハリ”よりも“しなやかさ”を感じるシルク。身体にぴたりと張るような生地ではなく、もう少し柔らかく、自然に身体のラインに沿うような風合いにしたい。そんな想いから、糸の加工方法を改めて見直すことにしました。
2024年の秋、ヴェネツィア近郊にあるOngettaの本社を訪問し、CEOや開発部長に相談するところからプロジェクトは始まりました。糸の細さや撚りのバランス、加工方法について何度も意見を交わしながら、理想とする質感を探っていきました。
そこからさらに、生地として編み上げる工程でも検証を重ねます。糸が最も美しく、そして心地よく仕上がる編み方を探るため、編み機との相性も何度も見直しました。小さな調整を積み重ねることで、少しずつ見えてきた理想の風合い。
そうして完成した新しいシルクは、以前よりもやわらかく、しなやかで、それでいて身体に自然に沿う質感。軽やかでありながら、どこかゆったりとした着心地を感じられる生地に仕上がりました。
言葉にすると、とても小さな違いのように聞こえるかもしれません。けれど、素肌に触れるインナーだからこそ、このわずかな変化が着心地に大きな差を生み出します。袖を通した瞬間に感じる柔らかさや、身体に寄り添う感覚。その違いを、きっと感じていただけると思います。
この新しいシルク生地を使ったアイテムは、2026年3月中旬に登場予定です。(※現在Pre-Order受付中) AROMATIQUEらしいシルクランジェリーとして、日常に寄り添いながらも、さりげない美しさを感じていただけるコレクションになる予定です。

The Evolution of AROMATIQUE Silk
It has been nearly ten years since AROMATIQUE first began creating silk pieces.
The smoothness felt the moment it touches the skin, the natural luster, and the lightness that remains comfortable throughout the seasons. Silk has long been one of the materials that defines AROMATIQUE.
And now, that silk has been gently updated.
The silk used by AROMATIQUE begins with custom-dyed original yarns from Ongetta, an Italian spinning company. Located about an hour north of Venice, Ongetta is known for its refined color development and consistent quality. The beautiful tones found in AROMATIQUE’s silk pieces owe much to these carefully produced yarns.
This time, we decided to revisit the very foundation of the fabric — the yarn itself.
While the silk we had been using was already beautiful, years of working with the material gradually led us to a new idea. We wanted a silk that felt less structured and more fluid. Rather than a fabric that simply holds its shape, we imagined something softer, more supple — something that could move naturally with the body.
In the autumn of 2024, we traveled to Italy to visit Ongetta’s headquarters near Venice. Discussions with the CEO and the head of development marked the beginning of this project. Together we revisited the balance of yarn fineness, twist, and finishing processes, exploring how subtle adjustments could transform the feel of the final fabric.
From there, the work continued on the knitting side. To achieve the ideal texture, we repeatedly tested the compatibility between the yarn and the knitting machines. Small adjustments were made again and again — each one subtle, yet each one contributing to the final character of the fabric.
After nearly a year of refinement, a new silk emerged.
The result is a fabric that feels softer and more supple, yet still gently follows the lines of the body. It carries a lightness, but also a quiet sense of comfort — the kind of balance that can only be felt when worn.
In words, the difference may sound small. But because these pieces are worn directly on the skin, even the slightest change can transform the experience of wearing them. The softness you feel when slipping it on, the way the fabric naturally follows the body — these details are where the difference reveals itself.
The first pieces made with this newly developed silk fabric will be introduced in mid-March 2026. They will reflect the essence of AROMATIQUE: pieces that quietly accompany everyday life while bringing a sense of understated beauty.
AROMATIQUE is a brand created by a manufacturer. Because of this, we continue to approach every material and design with care, always searching for ways to improve. Even when a fabric has been used for many years, we believe it can still evolve — slowly, thoughtfully, and with respect for the material itself.
This is how AROMATIQUE continues to refine its craftsmanship.
